(2020-ongoing)
My work uses physical darkness as a motif for cultural Blackness and soul searching. Through collaging figures toned in full shadow into groups or solo settings, I seek to represent universal moments of the black experience. I find community and identity to be two concepts of utmost relevance. Echoing Leonardo Da Vinci's "The Last Supper", my work, "Supper", narrates the significance of community, gratitude, and a little bit of drama that comes with complicated relationships. Another work "Contemplation", is a piece of reflection, mirroring the end of ones life and reconciliation with death.
